Pallotti’s Varsity track team traveled last weekend to New York City’s Armory for the annual New Balance Nationals. This is where the top runners from around the world compete against each other.
Junior Kamylin Padgham, sophomore Carl Hicks, and freshman Aidan McDuffie were invited to represent the school. McDuffie placed 12th in the Freshman 400 meter dash, placing him 24th overall and 18th among Freshman. “I don’t feel as though I did good, because I ran against a 17-year-old freshman.”
Padgham finished third overall and 55th in the US among juniors in the 60-meter dash.
Hicks finished fourth overall in Maryland and 10th in the US among sophomores in the 200 meters. “I enjoyed running in this event. It gave me a chance to come back and show what I worked on since last year’s nationals.” Last year, Hickjs was fourth in the country for freshman and had hoped to improve on that.
