Jackson Named 1st Student of the Month

Here is the text of David Tenney’s remarks at the conclusion of Mass on October 4:

Freshman Mia Gonzales Jackson’s integrity earned her the first Student of the Month Award for the 2018-19 school year.

At Pallotti, each month we will recognize a student at our school who exemplifies a particular virtue. Our theme for this month was integrity, the virtue of being trustworthy and reliable, of doing the right thing even when no one is watching. We received many nominations for great students who exemplify this virtue from teachers and students for this month. We have so many students at our school who could get recognized for being students of integrity.

The student who received the most votes is known for being genuine and respectful to peers and teachers, and being welcoming to new students at our school. Although she is new to our school herself, she has already been active in many school activities, and she has gone above and beyond to help others. This student has been an ambassador with shadows and has offered to help new students in her classes. At New Student Orientation, she insisted on helping to collect trash and water bottles all over the gym. At the Crab Feast she was one of the friendliest and most helpful volunteers. She is very trustworthy and is kind to everyone she meets. We are proud to announce our first Student of the Month this school year: Freshman Mia Gonzales Jackson
