First Signing Sends Three Seniors to College

Quai Skeete-Ridley, Trinity Thomas, and Alexandra Eubanks started off the year with Pallotti’s first official colligate signings.

Skeete-Ridley signed to play lacrosse at Howard University with a full ride scholarship. She said that “It is kind of sad” that she is leaving her team because they really helped her. She’s played lacrosse for five years becoming a complete dawg (one of the best in her sport). Dominating a predominantly white sport, Saint Vincent Pallotti’s athletic staff is very proud of Quai.

A long with her teammate Eubanks, Coach Mark Mozier said that he was “extremely proud of his two athletes”. He also said that he believed that they will have great careers in the sport.

Eubanks signed to play at University of MT. Olive, a D2 school in North Carolina.

Trinity Thomas proudly poses with her parents.

Thomas signed a scholarship for volleyball at East Stroudsburg University. Thomas said, “I’m excited for whats in store for me next.” Thomas’ coach,  Tamara Leslie, wasn’t available to attend her signing, but Freddie Newman, returning for a visit after leaving SVPHS after last year, spoke on her behalf. She said that it was a “pleasure to watch them grow into leadership roles.” She also believed that Trinity was extra special because she’s been able to keep her playing on a steady roll even through the constant switching of coaches.

The  AV Room was packed, prompting Women’s Athletic Direct LeeAnn Elman to remark she had never seen it so full of friends and family. Elman also addressed the girls, commenting on their skills in play and their contributions to the student body.

Athletic Director LeeAnn Elman, Freddie Newman, and Mark Mozier made remarks during the event.

Elman also used the celebration to announce that there has been enough interest in lacrosse for the school to field a junior varsity team for the first time.

The celebration concluded with cake and cupcakes for the attendees.
