Character/Meme Day lets People Show Their True Selves

Character/Meme day is a chance for students to express themselves for who they really are. Connor Beamer who dressed up as Brett Kavanaugh believes that spirit week allows students to be more comfortable in the class room and actually enhances learning. Many students decided to participate in the event dressing up as characters from their favorite books, shows, and movies. Others decided to dress up as memes from social media. Trinity Thomas (senior) decided to dress up as Regina George because she thought that she was the funniest character in the movie Mean Girls. Some students went out to purchase their costumes while others used the reasources they had had at home. For example Leila Nolen (senior) bought her outfit for her character Sebrina the Teenage Witch for around forty dollars from Target, while Elijah Oshannaiye made his Glenda the Good witch/ Mary Poppins costume from things that he had at home. Both protrayed thier charaters very well. There was also a variety of duplicate costumes throughout the school for example Zoey Babb and Precious Asala both came dressed at T-Bo from iCarly but when asked who’s costume she thought was better Precious said hers and that if it cam down to a competeion she would win. Some students also decided to team up together for partner costumes like Kennedy Essex and Lauren McFadden partnered up to be Peter Pan and Tinkerbell while Gilbert Otto and Gabrelle James teamed up to to protray characters from the show Office.
