Senior Jose Romero was named the April Student of the month. The virtue was selflessness, someone shows compassion for the needs of others and takes action to help them. Someone who makes others’ happiness a priority. Someone who is willing to sacrifice for the good of others.
At the Easter mass service, Assistant Principal David Tenney introduced him, mentioning how as a leader in the SGA and Model UN, Romero is one of the best leaders in Pallotti.
It was an especially proud moment for Romero, whose mother Marion, is part of the school’s maintenance crew, and attended the ceremony.
When asked, Romero said he was “honored to be chosen. Pallotti has been a wonderful school to me these past four years. It almost hurts that I have to leave so soon.” He wasn’t expecting to be chosen for this award. Jose received a certificate and a Chick-fil-a gift card.
After receiving the award, he was further recognized with another award as the first Secretary of Model UN at Pallotti. Kirk Marchand brought the program to the school and was given a chance to acknowledge the team’s accomplishments. Romero, as the club’s secretary, joined Marchand in awarding fellow students, complete with the ceremonial gavel being handed to Laura Van Pate ’21.
Romero will be attending George Washington University in the fall where he will major in Comparative Politics.
