New York, New York: Nationals!

Pallotti’s Varsity track team traveled last weekend to New York City’s Armory for the annual New Balance Nationals. This is where the top runners from around the world compete against each other. Junior Kamylin Padgham, sophomore Carl Hicks, and freshman Aidan McDuffie were invited to represent the school. McDuffie placed 12th in the Freshman 400 meter dash, placing him 24th overall and 18th among Freshman. “I don’t feel as though I did good, because I ran against a 17-year-old freshman.” Padgham finished third overall and 55th in the US among juniors in the 60-meter dash. Panthers scratch thier way to a home playoff game

After a nailbiting game, the Panthers clawed their way to a 55-53 victory over Saint Johns Catholic Prep High School. Winning this game allowed for the Panthers to stay in their fourth place ranking, which secures them a home game for their first playoff game. Junior Jania Hall led the team in points with 19 followed by Makyla Waleed, 21 with 15. It was a close game till the end but Hall secured a lead with seconds left in the fourth quarter. Panthers Pounce on Riverdale 65-59

The Pallotti Panthers gained a good victory against Riverdale Baptist on December 8. This rivalry was a close one throughout the whole game with Pallotti finally grabbing the lead in the fourth quarter with the final score being 65-59. Senior Isaiah Oshinnaiye dropped a critical 11 points in the second half, which helped propel the Panthers to gain the lead in the fourth. Pallotti Defeats the Patriots

This past Friday, the Lady Panthers Varsity basketball team traveled to John Carrol to compete in a conference matchup against the Patriots, defeating them 74-55. The starters for this game included Sophmore Makayla Waleed and Juniors Nhaikya Smith, Jania Hall, Jasmine Valentine, and Lindsay Thweatt. This Pallotti team is young with no seniors on the team. The team fought hard to secure the win, led by Hall and Valentine who tied in leading points with 17 points each with Valentine also recording 17 rebounds.
